There is a new restaurant on Avenida Tulum, in downtown Cancun. It is called Club Sandwich Cafe and it’s only one block from my home! They have only been open for a little over a week and I’ve already had 3 delicious meals there. It’s a great addition to the neighborhood!

The restaurant is owned by a delightful Canadian man that has been living and working in Cancun for several years. He missed his favorite coffee shop in Montreal, where he could go and spend hours just drinking coffee and chatting with friends, and decided to create his version here in Cancun. I’m so happy he did! I love that he happily greets most of the guests as they enter and/or says goodbye as they leave! Customer service is practically non-existent in many businesses in Cancun and it’s nice that he makes such an effort to show he is glad you stopped into his place.

They have soups, salads, sandwiches, specialty coffees, cocktails, and the best desserts I’ve tasted in Mexico! Portions are large, the food is yummy, and prices are incredibly reasonable. Great music is always playing, but it’s low enough that you can enjoy conversing with your companions. The decor is very warm and inviting and the location is perfect for people-watching!

Tonight, I went to Club Sandwich Cafe for dinner with a friend and we left 4 hours later! We had a wonderful time talking, eating, and people-watching! In fact, we got a table by the front window solely for the purpose of watching the world pass by. We never felt rushed to leave, even though it was nearly midnight (their closing time).

I hope Club Sandwich Cafe will be wildly successful! (There is talk of them becoming a Merchant for The Cancun Club. I’ll keep you posted!) Be sure and stop by on your next visit to Cancun! Canadians will feel right at home because there are Canadian flags flying outside the restaurant and on many of the tables!
